I'M BACK!

This is how I feel, post-editing

I am officially done with editing* (for now) and I'm equally relieved and stressed, wondering if I've gotten it right. Basically I'm crazy on a stick right now.

It is not a pleasant sensation.

Despite all the craziness, I am making a timid return to the blogosphere. I didn't post much (well, at all) during most of the editing, mainly because my posts would have been something like this: I HATE UR FACE, EDITS! But that is done with (for now) and I will be back sometime next week after I take a trip to Melbourne. And then recover from said trip.

I wish I could say that my future posts will be filled with nuggets of editing knowledge that I gleaned during my epic stay in the editing cave, but alas, there are none. Editing Jade resembles a muppet with no sense of direction and who doesn't speak the local language.

Yeah, there was a lot of arm flailing.

During my editing break, I also plan to return to my much neglected WiP, The Children Most Foul. I currently have a grand total of 5781 words which is rather pitiful if I do say so. I'd like to at least 6000 before 2011 ends.

I'm not sure if I've mention this book before, but knowing me, probably not. So before I fall into another blogging abyss, here's some images from my inspiration file:

What has everyone else been up? Who is surviving NaNo? Who is in a corner rocking back and forth? Who is cursing the day they decided writing might be fun?

* For those who aren't aware, I have been busy killing my remaining brain cells in a mammoth edit of my book, The Silagree.

9 really deep and meaningful thoughts:

  1. Surviving NaNo-- check. Rocking in corner-- check. Cursing the day I decided writing might be fun-- check.

THREE FOR THREE! WHAT DO I WIN?

Also, those pictures are creepy/beautiful. I love them.

Also also, I totally believe in you! Those 219 words might be tricky, but if you do your own ultra-mini-NaNo and write 7 words every day in December you'll easily make 6,000 before 2011 ends! GOOD LUCK!!

  2. Cursing the day they decided writing might be fun? That's probably me about now. :) But not really, because I mean I love it. But still... *sigh* :)
    Also, beautiful pictures!

  3. Hooray! I am so glad you're back. I can't wait for The Silagree to be a shiny, pretty, lovely, published book! You're one step closer! Your new WIP sounds equally awesome. You've got the BEST titles. Hope all is well. Enjoy life outside the editing cave!

  4. Oooh, love your inspiration photos! Creepilicious, as per usual. Glad you survived the rigors of the editing cave. ;)

I've been trying to work on my wip during the week, and save the weekends for editing. But of course, my weekends have been so busy I've barely had any time for editing. I agree with Lisa you are A+#1 at titles, lol!

  5. Yay! I'm glad you're back! Unfortunately, I'm still in my editing cave. I'm thinking of padding the walls soon.

And I know I've said it before, but I love your inspiration images. They make me happy in a dark sort of way.

  8. Welcome back!

I topped out at 25k-ish for my Nano project, but since I already had 10k started, I'm happy. It's a solid beginning.

But I just got my round two editorial letter back today and there is DEFINITELY going to be some rocking back and forth in the corner this weekend...

  9. Survived NaNo! But I don't know how to edit either... it seems awesome, though. ^_^
