Love hurt brain.

This quote basically sums up my entire book.

It's been so long that I think I've forgotten how to do this. Oh, that's right. I just babble incoherently and then hit "post."

Easy.

So I have been AWOL from the Blogosphere (but not from Twitterverse) and I've been putting my time to good use. I've been writing.

LIKE A FIEND.

I hit 60k on the weekend and I'm thisclose to being finished with this awful, messy draft. And I need to be done because it's eating my soul and consuming my life. I would quite like to have my life back. It can keep my soul.

If all goes to plan, I should be finished in a couple of weeks and then I'll be back with lots of stories to tell. I'm secretly hoping to finish it this week, but since my brain feels like it's been defrosted in the microwave and then left out in the sun for a few days, it's probably unlikely.

But I love this book so much that it hurts. Which is a lot. It might turn out to be nothing, but I'm hoping it will be something. I guess only time will tell.

Some of you might be wondering what the book is about, so I'll show you.

It has some of this:

And this:

Lots of this:

And a bit of this:

Okay, maybe not the last one.

SEE YOU SOON!

  4. I LOVE that quote. So much so I have it tattooed on my back. No joke.

It's from a poem by Sarah Williams called The Old Astronomer to His Pupil. The full quote is "Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light. I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night."

    Pure awesome sauce :)

  5. Whatever it is you're cranking out, I like the sound of it. ;)

Good luck finishing it up. Please ignore the jealousy dripping from every pore of my body. I can't believe you can write so fast so consistently. I need a fire under my feet and possibly to be locked in a room alone for a month to be that productive!

PS, I am finally reading Burn Bright and loving it! Over halfway through. Too bad I've got to get back to revisions, so it might take me a while to finish it. :(

  8. Ooh, that's intriguing. I'm almost disappointed that the last pic isn't part of your novel.

Keep writing, Jade! And remember to stop and eat once in a while.
